Synopsis
Director Alexis Taillant’s documentary explores the often-challenging relationship between sexuality and ageing within the LGBTQ+ community. Through interviews with three subjects — Micheline, Francis and Yves — the film paints a vivid portrait of queer elders who boldly embrace love, joy and pleasure in their later years. With stunning cinematography and heartfelt storytelling IF I DIE, IT’LL BE OF JOY presents an intimate triptych that encourages audiences to confront the strength and resilience of queer elders as they challenge prejudice and reimagine the ageing experience.
