Synopsis
BLOCK PASS follows Jojo, a talented teenage motocross racer in the French town of Longué-Jumelles, and his steadfast best friend Willy. When Jojo’s sexuality is revealed, the two must navigate the prejudices of their conservative community. Directed by Antoine Chevrollier in his feature film directorial debut, this empathetic and character-driven drama sensitively chronicles their journey, as Jojo and Willy confront the “ghosts” of homophobia and societal expectations. With a keen eye for the complexities of identity and friendship, Chevrollier’s film offers a poignant exploration of the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth in a rural French setting.
